When we receice your fiber, the very first thing we will do is weigh it - this is the "intake weight".
We will then lay out your fiber on a skirting table to inspect the quality and condition of it, even if you have already skirted it. This step is to make sure it is free of excess vegetation, wood shavings, bugs and foreign matter. Once the fiber is skirted it moves to the next step of tumbling, if needed, or to scouring.
We strongly encourage you to skirt your own fiber before sending it to us. But if you do not have the time or inclination to skirt your fiber, we will be happy to do it for you (see our Price List for associated fees, and our Policies for what should not be shipped.)
